Different forms of Numerology

  • Chaldean Numerology
  • Vedic (or Ank Vidya)
  • Pythagorean Numerology
  • Kabbalah Numerology
  • Chinese Numerology

In all the systems numbers correspond to alphabets. Some systems primarily use the date of birth and name, others use either of the two. Based on the region and school of thought, a chart is generated to reach resultant key numbers. Each number has a unique vibration, giving it interpretative meaning and properties. They offer surprising insights into our character, attitude, compatibility, life choices and guidance for the future.

Chaldean Numerology System

Chaldean Numerology was developed in Ancient Babylon or present-day Iraq. It is the oldest form of numerology and consists of the most detailed system of calculation. Chaldean numerology assigns numerical values to alphabets based on their energy. Chaldean numerology advocates that an individual can influence their own life journey rather than being a mere outcome of fate.

In a Chaldean chart, the double-digit denotes the inner influence that exerts control on an individual. The single-digit number represents- how a person appears on the outside world, much like a sun sign. The life path number is derived from the birth date in Chaldean numerology.

This system requires more calculations but results in greater numerical accuracy and multiple sets of very insightful numbers.

Vedic or Ank numerology

The India Vedic or Ank Vidya (numbers in Sanskrit) numerology is based on the Vedic or Samkhya philosophy. It considers everything in life to be influenced by nine planets and shaped by the various tattvas in nature (the essence of reality). All the numbers from 0 to 9 have a corresponding planetary connection that manifests in an individual as per their birth chart and name numbers. They govern the whole life of an individual. Vedic numerology remedies are some of the most powerful and detailed set of guidelines that are devised to address hostile planetary conditions and provide solutions for every aspect of life.

Pythagorean numerology system

Around 530 BCE, the Pythagorean system was developed by the Greek scientist Pythagoras. He believed that reality was a set of complex mathematical processes and calculations. The Pythagorean system assigns numbers 1 to 9 on an alpha-numeric table and uses a formula to find the life path number. The Pythagorean system is easier to master and is often used by amateurs to satisfy their love and fascination for numerology.

Kabbalah numerology system

Kabbalah Numerology developed in its current form around 4000 years ago in Palestine. Kabbalah numerology proposes that everything, including our names, are made up of energy. This system analyses using an individual’s birth name to discover their core numbers which reveal information about an individual’s future and their life path. The Kabbalah numerology system studies only the name of an individual and not the date using the tree of life for calculation. Today a number of western celebrities swear by their Kabbalah numbers. Kabbalah numerology teaches about finding fulfillment in life.

Chinese numerology system

Chinese Numerology is thought to be more than 4000 years old. It is based on the Lo Shu square that is used to calculate the personality traits and strengths of an individual based on the date, month and year of birth. Every number corresponds to a human trait by which a person is deemed to have the characteristics of the numbers that are present in their chart.

Unlike other forms of numerology, Chinese Numerology is based on the sounds that a spoken number makes which is considered to be negative or positive. For example, the numbers 68, and 9 are considered lucky, while 4 and 7 are considered unlucky. All the numbers relate to five elements in nature and are used in interpretations as well.
